From STMicroelectronics is the latest addition to the Omega family of set-top boxes. Known as the STi5512, the device is pin-to-pin and software-compatible with the STi5510 but delivers increased system performance.
As with all members of the Omega series, the STi5512 integrates, in a single chip, a programmable MPEG transport steam demultiplexer block, an ST20, 32bit system CPU, an audio/visual MPEG2 decoder, IEEEE1394 12C, teletext and smartcards.
