A range of circuit protection devices which uses the latest voltage variable material (VVM) technology to protect items of electronic equipment against electro-static discharge (ESD) transients is now available from CPS.
Made by Littelfuse, the PulseGuard range includes connector array modules and surface-mount devices which can provide reliable protection against ESD spikes in a variety of datacoms applications.
The range consists of array modules which are designed to fit the connector sockets commonly used in PCs and peripheral equipment, such as printers, router hubs and scanners, together with surface-mount devices suitable for PCB mounting in all types of digital comms equipment.

The connector arrays are available for use with standard 9, 15, 25, 37 and 50pin connector sockets, and are designed for press-in fitting with no soldering necessary. Custom configurations can also be supplied and each array incorporates a stainless steel ground plate which connects each data line to ground through the equipment shell.
The surface-mount devices are made in single-line, two-line and seven- line configurations corresponding to industry standard sizes 0603, SOT23 and SO8 respectively. An eight-line version is also available.
