Laser sources come in two configurations - Brief Article

Electronics Times, June 26, 2000

EXFO has released the IQ-2600B and FLS-2600B tunable laser sources. Two configurations are available: a modular source for inclusion in an integrated test station and a standalone source for benchtop use.

These next-generation tunable laser sources are designed to meet the needs of specialists characterising dense WDM and general passive fibre optic components in the C and L bands.

These are doped fibre sources to provide extra-high spontaneous emission rejection and top-of-the-line optical specifications for high- performance insertion loss and polarisation-dependent loss measurements.

The sources cover a wide range and are continuously tunable. Two design features have enabled tuning range extension and resolution improvement - the choice of erbium-doped fibre for extra gain in the L-band and more selective filtering to reduce laser line width.
