EMI Recorded Music is releasing 100 albums and more than 40 singles for digital download in a trial beginning in North America in July and expected to reach Europe before the end of the year.

But EMI says users will be able to burn CD-Rs and transfer tracks to portable players. The company says that music from a wide range of artists will be available, including the Spice Girls (pictured), Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner, Snoop Dogg and Pink Floyd.
