Fibre optic silicon chips offer solution - Brief Article

From Conexant Systems is the latest series of semiconductor system solutions for 2.5Gbit/s (OC-48) fibre optic network equipment that supports Sonet and synchronous digital hierachy digital data transmission standards.

The solutions are aimed primarily at high-volume datacoms traffic aggregation applications. The products include a 2.5Gbit/s positive- intrinsic negative preamplifiers, a 2.5Gbit/s limiting amplifier with a companion laser driver and a 2.5Gbit/s laser diode and laser modulator driver.
