Converters offer full user control - Brief Article

Electronics Times, May 15, 2000

The LP and HP series of frequency converters from Magnus Power Supplies offer full user control of both output voltage and frequency, and are available with single or three-phase output.

The LP series features a 1kVA power module, starting with the single- phase LP1000 at 1kVA, extending to the three-phase LP3003 which is offered with outputs up to 3kVA.

The output frequency for all models can be set anywhere in the range 45 to 440Hz, and the two output voltage ranges extend from zero to a little above the US and European standards.

Any LP series converter can be factory-set for a single-output voltage and frequency if required. This facility is suitable for the generation of fixed three-phase 115/200V 400Hz supplies for powering aircraft equipment. For example, the LP2003 offers 2kVA and can be run from the UK 13A mains supply.

All models in the HP series use a 6kVA power module. The smallest units are the HP6000 (6kVA single-phase) and the HP18003 (18kVA three-phase). These power modules can be coupled to provide any required output.

Both HP and LP series frequency converters are said to offer full user control of the output voltage and frequency, and all are built to order.
