Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedAudio/video driver ICs with multi-features - Brief Article
Electronics Times, Sept 18, 2000
TDK Semiconductors has introduced two quad audio/video drivers that support two or four video inputs and four audio inputs channels. Designed for applications including DVD players, VCRs, and digital receivers for satellite, cable and terrestrial television, the AVPro 5000A and AVPro 5000B are universal driver ICs with numerous features.
The 5000A is a two-video and four-audio driver supporting two composite video and two pairs of right and left audio signals. The device is designed so that each of the two video inputs includes a path that has a gain of two with output buffers to drive a 150 load. Each audio path has two independent output drivers that are capable of providing a nominal output of 2VRMS (3.2 RMS maximum). The gain of each audio driver is individually set using a pair of external resistors.

The 5000B is a four-video and four-audio driver IC. It is designed to support two composite video, one set of S-Video (Y and C) and two pairs of right and left audio signals. This device targets applications such as digital set-top boxes and DVD players where both composite and S- Video outputs are required. For these devices, each video driver has a gain of two with output buffer designed to drive a 150 load. Each audio driver can provide a nominal output of 2VRMS (3.2VRMS maximum), and the gain if each audio driver is individually set using a pair of external resistors.
