Michael Wills (centre), minister for learning and technology, launched the F1 In Schools: CAD/CAM Design Challenge at the BETT 2001 education and technology show at Olympia.
"This competition offers a good opportunity to motivate and encourage pupils in using CAD/CAM, an important part of the design and technology curriculum," said Wills.
Students whp design the best F1 cars will compete at regional finals for a place in the national championship to be held annually at BETT.
