Serial cards aid software download - Brief Article

Electronics Times, Feb 5, 2001

QM Systems has announced a range of multi-port PCI/PXI serial cards developed to improve throughput of software download to mobile phones.

Using the card, a single PC can programme and control more than 16 phones at once at up to 12.5Mbaud bit rate per phone. Programmable output levels and optional TTL or open drain outputs provide the flexibility to control and program a range of phone types.

Available in 4, 8, 12 and 16port versions, each port offers programmable data rates up to 12.5M baud and output levels programmable between 0.5 and 10V. The unit also incorporates fully compliant RS232, RS485 and RS422, and offers the option of adding digital I/O for real- word interfacing to input signal lines and output indicators and actuators.

The unit comes as a PXI card or as a PCI2.2-compliant with optional power management and wakeup mode. All serial channels can share a single interrup request (IRQ).
