Following is an updated table of party strength in both houses of the Diet following an announcement by Hirohide Uozumi to remain an independent.
Uozumi, who was elected Sunday in a House of Councillors by-election in Kumamoto Prefecture, was considering joining the Liberal Democratic Party. He ran as an independent.
