Kathleen Sebelius was confirmed by the US Senate to be Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Sebelius was most recently the governor of Kansas, where she also served as state insurance commissioner. As secretary of HHS, Sebelius will oversee 66,000 employees that include the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
