A growing U.S. economy is expected to increase energy demand in the U.S. by one-third over the next 20 years, according to an Energy Department report. More commercial buildings and personal travel and slower increases in fuel efficiency for cars and trucks will hike the need for oil and electricity by 2020.

The Energy Department's Energy Information Administration made the projection in a yearly report.
