Fairs this month

Magazine Antiques, March, 2004 by Miriam Kramer

As usual in March, two major fairs are being held in Europe. One is the European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) Maastricht (see Report from Europe in the February 2004 issue of The Magazine ANTIQUES), and the other is the British Antiques Dealers' Association (BADA) Antiques and Fine Art Fair in London, held from March 24 to 30. The loan exhibition entitled "All that Glisters": Highlights of the V & A's Metalwork Collection comes from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and is a preview of works that will be included in the new domestic metalware gallery due to open at the museum in October. The objects range in date from the fourteenth century to the present day and illustrate the array of domestic equipment collected by the Victoria and Albert since its founding. The exhibition is sponsored by the insurer Aon Artscope, incorporating Needham Jobson, and by the shipper Gander and White.
