USA Pavilion in Australia's International Mining and Exploration Exhibition (AIMEX '91). Sydney, Australia. Oct. 14-18, 1991. The U.S. Department of Commerce is organizing a USA Pavilion at AIMEX '91, Australia's premier showcase of the latest in mining equipment design, technology, and services. AIMEX, held every four years, is one of the world's four largest mining exhibitions and is the largest in the region. With more than 300 exhibitors and 10,000 trade visitors from all parts of Australia and nearby countries, AIMEX has proven an effective vehicle for promoting U.S. mining equipment and related products and services. The Commerce Department sponsored successful USA Pavilions in AIMEX in 1987, 1983, and 1979. There were ten national pavilions in the last AIMEX show. Because of increasing world competitiveness in mineral commodities, Australia's 1,600 mining establishments are making determined efforts to improve productivity through application of new technologies. Australia's mining industry is still very much dependent on imports for high-technology equipment and services; this dependency should lead to increased purchases from the United States. The USA Pavilion will occupy a prime location providing optimum visitor flow. The participation fee for a fully constructed and furnished 3 by 3 meter booth with our full service package is $2,750. Larger size booths to suit your needs are also available. Because demand for exhibit space at AIMEX is always heavy, it makes good sense to book early. Signing up early gives you the best possible choice of available booth location. Firms interested in exhibiting in AIMEX '91 should contact: George L. Zanetakos, U.S. Department of Commerce, ITA/OCG, Room H-2107, Washington, D.C. 20230, tel. (202) 377-0552, fax (202) 377-8219.
