* A Baltimore Catholic priest was in serious condition after being shot May 13 outside his home by a man who claimed the priest had abused him nearly a decade ago. Maurice Blackwell was expected to recover from shots to his hand and hip. The suspected gunman, Dontee Stokes, had filed a complaint in 1993 charging that the priest had molested him during Bible study sessions.
No criminal charges were filed. Blackwell was suspended from ministry after admitting to similar charges in 1998.
