Grants totaling more than $700,000 were announced recently for projects fostering worship renewal at 54 churches and organizations in the U.S. and Canada. The awards, now in their fourth year, were distributed by the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship at Calvin College from funding by the Lilly Endowment.

Recipients this year included an ELCA church in Baltimore that will teach children to be worship leaders, a Mennonite church in Bluffton, Ohio, that will train its members to be supportive in times of death and dying, and a Korean United Methodist church in Warwick, Rhode Island, that will seek to create services that bridge generation gaps in Korean-American congregations.
