Continuum acquires Trinity Press
Christian Century, June 5, 2002
Continuum International Publishing Group has purchased the Morehouse Group, a U.S. publishing company that includes Trinity Press International and curriculum and church resources for the Episcopal Church. The announcement in May marked a rapid series of acquisitions, including Sheffield Academic Press last October, since London-based Continuum formed in 1999.
Morehouse Group, based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, publishes about 60 new titles a year in addition to church school resources. The joint announcement, which disclosed no sale price, said that Kenneth H. Quigley, Morehouse president and CEO since 1995, would continue in that role.
Continuum chairman Philip Sturrock said he was delighted to buy a company with Morehouse's strength and reputation. "I expect to see a lot of synergy develop between the collection of imprints that are now linked through Continuum," he said in a statement. Continuum, which maintains a New York office, also has T & T Clark, A&C Black and Sheed & Ward among its religious and academic publishing companies.
