* An April 12 news story (p. 420) about Lutheran resistance to the "full communion" agreement between the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Episcopal Church incorrectly stated that the new accord "requires Lutherans to ordain their clergy by the laying on of hands by three ordained bishops." That requirement applies to the installation of ELCA bishops, not clergy.

In the case of clergy, Called to Common Mission: A Lutheran Proposal for a Revision of the Concordat of Agreement states that "a bishop shall regularly preside and participate in the laying-on-of-hands at the ordination of all clergy."
