* Habitat for Humanity and AOL Time Warner have entered a $1 million partnership that aims to provide low-income homeowners with computers and Internet access. The partnership was launched June 12 by Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County, North Carolina, with expectations that it will be the start of a national program.

"The vision of the Habitat for Humanity Digital Bridge Initiative is to showcase the extraordinary power of computers and the Internet in the nation's low-income homes," said Kay Lord, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County. Lord predicted that every home built by the Christian ministry could be outfitted with a computer, printer, software and Internet access starting in 2005.
