Compensating CEOs …
Christian Century, July 27, 2004 by Richard H. Drummond, Piers Woodriff
I WISH TO compliment the CENTURY for the article "Overcompensation," by William J. McDonough (June 15). I offer some data from Business Week. In comparison with the U.S. ratio of 400 to 1 in employer/employee compensation, the ratio in other industrialized countries is as follows: Brazil--57 to 1; Mexico--45 to 1; Britain (U.K.)--25 to 1; Germany--11 to 1; South Korea--11 to 1;Japan--10 to 1.

Overcompensation? Greed? William McDonough does not use the correct words to describe CEOs increasing their "take" from $1 million to $10 million a year. It looks more like fraud or embezzlement to us little people.
