Sarah Polster, 48, founding editor of the Religion-in-Practice series of books at Jossey-Bass, died at her Alameda, California, home on July 4 following a nine-month battle against cancer. Polster, who created the plan for the San Francisco--based publisher's religion books in 1995, edited two books by Martin E.

Marty: Politics, Religion and the Common Good and Education, Religion and the Common Good. Other authors whose work she edited included Parker Palmer, Kennon Callahan and Brenda Brasher.
