A Baroque Christmas
Christian Century, Dec 4, 2002
Carolyn Sinclair, Baroque Players of Hamilton. Michael Jarvis. ATMA 22174, $16.00.
Here is a program for harpsichord, flute, violin, cello and soprano performed with an easy directness. Half the works are unavailable anywhere else. The most familiar music here is the 12/8 version of "Rejoice greatly" from Handel's Messiah. In a harpsichord solo work by one of Bach's sons you can recognize the tune "Morgen kommt der Weihnachtsmann" as "Twinkle, twinkle, little star."
