BACK IN THE AIR: A young Afghan boy flies a kite at the Shamshtoo refugee camp outside Peshawar, Pakistan. Kite flying had been banned in Afghanistan under Taliban rule. Millions of Afghan civilians face hunger unless aid workers are able to get emergency supplies moving quickly. Aid workers reported that continued fighting between Taliban and Northern Alliance fighters and bombing by U.S.

warplanes have convinced many truck drivers not to risk navigating the road over the Khyber Pass.
