* Not yet through with stadium preaching, evangelist Billy Graham has agreed to a May crusade appearance in San Diego. Graham, 84, had opted to wait after his last 2002 mission, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, before deciding on 2003. "My burden to proclaim the gospel is as strong as ever," he said in a statement read at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego January 9.
"Therefore, health permitting, my associates and I will be glad to accept the invitation to come to California to join hands in proclaiming the gospel." Former San Diego Chargers kicker Rolf Bernischke will chair the May 8-11 event. Graham said he was surprised at his ongoing opportunities: "To be honest, I never expected to continue receiving invitations into my 80s." Graham also announced that he will preach June 12-15 at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City.
