Jeanne Moreau jetted over from Paris to lend her brand of sophistication and glamour to the New York Jewish Film Festival celebrations. She also stars in the latest film by Pierre Grimblat, Lisa, a highlight of this year's eclectic series.

New York-based filmmaker Katherine Dieckmann simply hailed a cab for the local premiere of her first feature film, the exquisitely realized A Good Baby. It was selected as the fourth installment of the American Independent Visions series at the Walter Reade Theater.

Film Society members have been in love with Spanish cinema ever since Pedro Almodovar proclaimed that he "wanted to marry us all" following the 1988 NYFF premiere of his film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. This year's Spanish Cinema Now series introduced us to actors Javier Bardem and Eduardo Noriega, directors Mateo Gil, Laura Mana, and Helena Taberna, to name a few. Yes, we loved them too, even if they did think some of us went to bed too early.
