Former Manhattan borough president and noted entrepreneur Percy E. Sutton (l.) and former New York City mayor David Dinkins helped shape the new Harlem, and both continue to be active in community affairs. Sutton is currently chairman of Inner City ACT/BIND & E Inc., which includes entertainment, Internet and telecommunication properties such as the Showtime at the Apollo television show.
Dinkins teaches public affairs as a professor at Columbia University in Harlem.
