Creations from American designers far the fall 2001 season holds an abundance of promise. There is a wonderful mix of super dressy and cool casual attire far women with varying style preferences and social needs, Whether there is a big event requiring a ball gown, lunch with the ladies or a night of clubbing.

Bob Mackie showed gorgeous gowns. Carolina Herrera presented sophisticated, slim silhouettes with lots of leather, while Bodgley Mischka designed a satin cocktail dress embellished with old-fashioned fagoting. Ralph Lauren showed suede, leather and tweeds, and Michael Kors depicted upscale sporty looks.

Mini lengths continued to be popular, but there were also plenty of knee-length skirts and dresses. Black and white and earth tones were the mainstay of most collections, but there were a few bright breakouts. Among the color creations were Luca Luca's body-hugging pink suit and Michael Kors' kelly green shawl-collared coat.

There is much to look forward to this fall--and something that's just right far your personal style.

Zang Toi designs two-piece suit with belted "bird's eye tweed" sweater blazer with fox shawl collar and complementing side-split skirt, stiletto boots and matching old-fashioned muff/bag. Accessorized with leather gloves.

Michael Kors designs bright kelly green, below-the-knee coat with shawl collar and long sleeves, piped in black. Accessorized with double-flap belted waist pouch and knee-high leather boots.

Off-the-shoulder, short sleeve, satin cocktail dress tied at the waist with wide fagoting at top and bottom, by Badgley Mischka.

Choker-collar ensemble with metal clasp attached to open-front, double-chiffon tunic dress worn over patent leather hot pants, by Anne Bowen. Accessorized with matching patent leather boots.

Luca Luca designs two-piece skirt suit of pink wool crepe with zip-front corset jacket with pointed lapels, decorative belting hemline and matching knee-length skirt.

Atil Kutoglu designs ombre silk cocktail dress with boat neck, long sleeves and blouson waist.

Rose-pattern jacquard and wool-blend double-breasted jacket and matching miniskirt worn with turtleneck sweater and red stockings, by Daryl K.

Silk and cashmere jersey gown worn under mohair lace shawl with scattered sequins and fox trim, by Bob Mackie.

Portugal International designs two-piece ensemble with open-front blouse with wide cuffed sleeves and skort of soft crepe fabric.

Carolina Herrera designs white double-faced cashmere skirt suit with turned-up collar. Accessorized with wide belt and leather boots.
