What becomes of the brokenhearted - Book Review

Ebony,  August, 2003

(Doubleday, $22.95) by E. Lynn Harris, with a foreword by Maya Angelou, is a powerful memoir of a writer who came out of the closet and won fame and fortune. It is the universal story of triumph over agony and loss, with Harris writing poignantly on his experiences corning of age as a gay man first in the South and then in New York, his personal experience with the AIDS epidemic, his battles with depression and how he wrote through his pain.
