What's hot!

Ebony,  August, 2004

FOREVER, FOR ALWAYS, FOR LUTHER (GRP) is an all-star salute to Luther Vandross, the master vocalist and R&B legend. Kirk Whalum douses "Any Love" with his soulful saxophone, guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. rocks on "Never Too Much," and Lalah Hathaway delivers a beautiful performance of "Forever, For Always, For Love." The action doesn't stop there.

There's Mindi Abair's unstoppable sax on "Stop to Love" George Benson's intricate guitar artistry on "Take You Out" and Rick Braun delivers a moving trumpet solo on the Grammy-winning "Dance With My Father." Others featured include Dave Koz, Brian Culbertson, Ledisi, Boney James and Richard Elliot. The project was produced by Rex Rideout and Bud Hamer, and it is a fitting jazz tribute to the incomparable Luther Vandross. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association.
