IS baby pink the new red? Red, the global symbol of confidence and style, is suddenly being upstaged by its quieter sister hue, baby pink.
For most women, pink symbolizes purity, sugar-and-spice, and a certain kind of pomp, if you will.
For men, pink, a color normally associated with playfulness and femininity, symbolizes unadulterated confidence. According to fashion experts, a [heterosexual] man wearing pink tells the world: "I'm a man's man, and I'm so confident in my manhood that I can put on this pink [sweater, shirt, tie, jacket vest, jumpsuit, three-piece suit, tuxedo etc.] and stroll out the door and still get all the honeys."

Some Sisters admit that the more masculine the man, the more inviting he is when he wears pink.
Of men in pink, one stylish New York female says: "I've always loved men in pink and other pastel colors, but there was a time when men wouldn't wear it. I'm delighted that Brothers have come to realize the appeal of pink. To me, it's sexy. It shows confidence. I love men in pink."
And the opposite is true, too.
Recently, at a corporate mixer in Chicago, many Sisters were dressed in every variation of the little black dress imaginable, but it was two Sisters clad in bubble-gum-pink dresses who literally stole the show. As one Brother points out, Sisters in daring black dresses are sexy, indeed, "but it's something about a woman in pink; she just seems soft, playful and charming."

REAL MEN WEAR PINK. ANDRE 3000 of OutKast wears "Pepto-Bismol" pink at a recent outing. OutKast's styles are usually a mix of the old with the new. Similar styles may be found at a local thrift or resale store, although it may be difficult to find pink!

RAPPER CAM'RON, who is credited by many with bringing the baby pink hue to the hardcore hip-hop fashion scene, recently sold his pink Range Rover on eBay, and according to published reports, plans to paint his Bentley and RollsRoyce candy pink. At left, he displays his signature hue with a matching accessory--his pink bouts!

Stunning actress NICOLE ARI PARKER, formerly of the Showtime drama Soul Food, has proven her versatility on the big and small screen. When it comes to makeup, she likes to change it up.
