Why wear white?

Ebony,  August, 2005  by Eunice W. Johnson

Why should you wear white this summer? Because it is a gorgeous, classic look that screams "summer is here!" And it makes one feel good wearing it, regardless of skin tone, body shape or size. To help you cruise through the many events on your slimmer calendar, designers from Europe and New York offer a variety of stylish ensembles in white, from simple chemises (Oscar de la Renta) to lace cocktail dresses (Michael Kors) to snazzy white pants combinations (Chado Ralph Rucci). Cotton eyelet fabric was often shown on the runways, and among the standouts was Mara Hoffman's two-piece ensemble that has a flamenco flair. Whether you are heading to the office, lunching with the ladies, attending a dressy affair, or simply wanting a great look for a night out with your special someone, you can't go wrong with white.
