URSULA M. BURNS is the first president of Xerox Business Group Operations, a $12.5 billion organization responsible for five business divisions and the company's engineering center. Burns, a 20-year employee at Xerox, began as a mechanical engineer summer intern in 1980, then held engineering positions in product development and planning.
She was also executive assistant to the chief executive officer and led several business teams. Burns received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University. The executive lives in Rochester with her husband, Lloyd Bean, and their children, Malcolm and Melissa.
