Desiree Rogers: president, Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas

DESIREE ROGERS, Chicago civic and corporate leader, is president of Peoples Energy Corporation's two utility subsidiaries, Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas to hold the position with the utility giant. In this role, Rogers has direct responsibility for the utilities' field operations, gas supply management and customer service functions. Rogers, who also serves as a senior vice president of Peoples Energy Corporation, joined Peoples Energy in 1997 as vice president of corporate communications and was responsible for marketing, customer care operations, media relations, community affairs, governmental regulations and sales and rates of the corporation's utility businesses. The former director of the Illinois Lottery, Rogers serves on the corporate boards of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois and Equity International. She is involved in numerous civic organizations and serves as vice chairman for the Lincoln Park Zoo. She is on the executive committees of the Museum of Science and Industry and the Executives' Club of Chicago. Rogers, a trustee of WTTW and the Y-Me National Breast Cancer Organization, is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the Wellesley Business Leadership Council and the Chicago Network. Rogers received a bachelor's degree in political science from Wellesley College and a master's degree from the Harvard Business School. She resides in Chicago with her daughter, Victoria.
