Thank you for the article "Cedric The Entertainer and Gabrielle Union Set The Record Straight About The Honeymooners And Their Next Unexpected Moves" (July 2005). I liked what they had to say about taking a legendary, much-be-loved series and turning it into a movie with Black performers. Cedric simply took it as an honor, not a challenge.
The studio head thought that Cedric was the only person who could really to capture the essence of Jackie Gleason. Cedric says that he looks at that as an honor. He believes that Jackie Gleason, a fabulous entertainer, was definitely one of the great comedians in America.
