Mary J. Blige - Letters To The Editor - Letter to the Editor
Ebony, Oct, 2002
I really enjoyed reading the article "Mary J. Blige: A New Man, A New Career And No More Drama" (Aug. 2002). I have a new respect for Mary. It really takes a strong person to admit to having problems, and it takes a stronger person to share with the world how they overcame them. It seems that you always hear of negative things involving artists, and I think it's just refreshing to hear something positive.
Nowadays, artists don't want to be seen as role models, but like it or not, they are. Mary has shown that even though we stumble, we can rise again. It's never too late to start doing the right thing. I commend you, Mary, on your continued relationship with God and finding the love of your life. I wish you both the best life has to offer.

The article on Mary J. Blige was truly an inspiration to me. I have watched Mary since she came on the music scene, and I know that it was only the work of God that got her to where she is today. I am so, so proud of her.
EBONY, thank you for publishing such a great article. I really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work, Mary, and congratulations on your engagement. Much love to EBONY and Mary J. Blige.
