LARRY NELSON is the first Black senior vice president and associate general counsel of development for Wendy's International, Inc. He oversees legal matters related to the development of Wendy's restaurants in the United States and abroad. Nelson joined Wendy's legal department in 1978 and became a company officer in 1991.
He served on the steering committee of the ABA Forum on Franchising and served as Wendy's liaison to the International Franchise Association. He serves on the board of directors of the Big Brother/Big Sister Association of Greater Columbus and also on the board for the King Arts Complex in Columbus. Nelson graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor's degree in business and received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He and his wife Theresa have two adult children, Eric and Danielle Nelson Walker.
