BRANFORD MARSALIS celebrates the great artist on ROMARE BEARDEN REVEALED (Marsalis Music). The saxophonist produced the set of newly record music in celebration of Bearden, who had a great affinity for jazz music. Among the selections are "Seabreeze," for which Bearden contributed lyrics in the 1950s; "J-Mood," the title track of Wynton Marsalis' 1986 album for which Bearden painted the cover; and Doug Wamble's guitar composition, "Autumn Lamp," inspired by Bearden's canvas of the same title.

The album complements a major Bearden retrospective being staged at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and will travel to San Francisco, Dallas, New York and Atlanta.
