Prince
Ebony, Nov, 2004 by Aleia G. James, Lisa Y. Tolufashe
Thank you so much for Lynn Norment's article, "Prince: Reclaiming His Throne" (Sept. 2004)! As a music lover and recent business management and music graduate, I stand in awe of Prince's continually successful career. In this time of commercialized "iced-out" rappers and hip-hop artists ballin' on a budget, wannabe R&B legends singing about sex and "baby-mommas," and flat-out bad musicians who never should've pushed the "record" button--it's a beautiful thing to see Prince come back!
Prince is exactly who young African-Americans in general need to see in a musician!

The article, "Prince: Reclaiming His Throne" (Sept. 2004), was very uplifting. It was very inspiring to read about Prince proclaiming his spirituality. It was very good to see that he is a changed man, not doing the things he used to do. I was glad to read that he is an advocate for artists' rights and that he feels corporations should not own an artist's music.
It was also inspiring when he said for the younger kids that wanted to follow him, they need to get their spiritual life together if they wanted their relationships to go right. This is so true. If you are in line with God, everything else will follow.
Very good article!
