Kenneth Shropshire, sports law and entertainment law attorney, is president elect of the Sports Lawyers Association, a nonprofit, international, professional organization with more than 1,000 members. He is the first African-American to hold the post, Shropshire, a member of the board of the directors for the Sports Lawyers Association since 1997, is the David W.
Hauck Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and also serves as chairman of the Legal Studies department. He is also the author or co-author of several award-winning works, including The Business of Sports with Scott Rosner, The Business of Sports Agents, In Black and White: Race and Sports in America and The Sports Franchise Game. He has provided commentary for several TV shows and newspapers, and has served as consultant for the National Football League, the United States Olympic Committee and Major League Baseball. Shropshire received an undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University end a law degree from Columbia University Law School. He and his wife, Diane, live in Philadelphia with their children, Sam and Theresa.
