LARRY D. THOMPSON, 58, the new senior vice president and general counsel for PepsiCo, is responsible for the corporation's legal department as well as its government affairs organization and charitable foundation. He reports directly to the chairman and CEO, Steven S. Reinemund, and serves on PepsiCo's senior executive committee The attorney formerly served as deputy attorney general for the U.S.
Department of Justice and led the justice department's ongoing Enron investigation Following his tenure with the government, he became a senior fellow with Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C. Thompson earned a law degree from the University of Michigan, a master's degree from Michigan State University and a bachelor's degree from Culver-Stockton College.
