Center Stage

Thank you for the Center Stage recognition of Dr. Lorraine Cole (Oct. 2004). I first met Dr. Cole in 1978 at the Illinois Speech Language Hearing Association convention during a critical career decision-making time as I was a young at college junior at Bradley University.

I met Dr. Cole when she was a young Ph.D. from Northwestern University, breaking research ground in the area of speech language development in African-American children. I chose to remain in my academic program, and the rest is history. She is one dynamic role model and mentor.
