FOUNDATION PRESIDENT AND CEO

Stacey Davis Steed is president and chief executive officer of the Fannie Mae Corporation Foundation. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the foundation is the largest one devoted exclusively to affordable housing. In her position, Steed manages a $100-million budget and more than 100 employees. The Atlanta native received her bachelor's degree in economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

OPERATIONS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

Joseph F. Gomes (above) is senior vice president, logistics, for 7-Eleven, Inc., which is based in Dallas, Texas. The Marine Corps veteran is responsible for the operation of the company's network of commissaries, bakeries and distribution centers. A native of Sacramento, Calif., Gomes received a bachelor's degree in business administration from National University in San Diego. He lives in Piano, Texas, with his wife, Valerie, and he has three adult children.

ENGINEERING SOCIETY PRESIDENT

Dr. Delon Hampton, president of the American Society of Civil Engineers, is the first African-American elected to that office in the society's 142-year history. The group represents 120,000 civil engineers worldwide and is the oldest engineering society in the United States. Raised in Chicago, he has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois and a master's and doctorate from Purdue University. He lives in Potomac, Md., with his wife, Sonia, and has two adult stepdaughters.
