After reading the article, "Is The NFL's Black Quarterback Boom Real?" (Oct. 2001), I believe Michael Vick chose the right path. He is a fine, friendly, well-mannered young man who has proven what a great athlete and gentleman he is.
Michael comes from a fine family, and they are so very proud of him. Michael is an inspiration not only to the Newport News, Va., community, but an inspiration to all youth. I work at a juvenile offender program in Newport News and Michael has taken time out of his busy schedule to promote and be a part of a fund-raiser for teens in trouble.
To Michael, I say congratulations and keep up the good work. You have made me proud to be a native of Newport News. You are No. 1. May God's richest blessings go to you and your family.
