Should America Pay? Slavery And The Raging Debate Over Reparations. . - Also Noted - book review

Ebony, Feb, 2003

SHOULD AMERICA PAY? SLAVERY AND THE RAGING DEBATE OVER REPARATIONS (Amistad, $24.95) by Raymond A. Winbush is a collection of original and previously published essays addressing the legal, emotional and practical issues surrounding the reparations debate from well-known commentators and noted scholars, including Congressman John Conyers, John McWhorter, and Molefi Asanta, along with four dissenting voices.

A surprising omission is Chicago City Council Alderman Dorothy Tillman who has scored two major victories in the Chicago City Council for reparations. Historically related documents, including the First Congressional Reparations Bill of 1867 and the Dakar Declaration of 2001, are also featured in this collection.
