Honoring 'Dr. Dan'

Thank you, EBONY, for the great article, Northwestern University Honors The Legacy of 'Dr. Dan' (Dec. 2004). It was unfortunate that nothing was mentioned about the contributions of the Provident Foundation in the article. We participated in the initial planning meetings for the event and provided some of the photographs and materials that were used in the presentation.
The Provident Foundation's mission for more than a decade has been to perpetuate the history and legacy of Provident Hospital and its founder, Dr. Daniel Hale Williams.
With the collection of photographs and artifacts we have in our possession, we were able to create a traveling exhibit that premiered at the DuSable Museum in 2003.
