Treatment for calluses

Q My hands are really rough and have calluses. What can I do to get rid of them and then prevent them?

A Calluses on the hands can usually be prevented by wearing gloves during activities that cause friction, including some job requirements. Calluses, which reflect undue pressure placed on the skin, can become infected. Unhealthy tissue may have to be removed and antibiotics may be necessary.
