Cassandra M. Chandler is the highest-ranking African-American woman at the Federal Bureau of Investigation with her appointment as assistant director of training. Chandler, a 17-year veteran of the bureau, is responsible for all training programs for new employees and continuing education for the existing FBI workforce, including advanced training for thousands of state and local officers.

She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and English from Louisiana State University and a juris doctorate from the Loyola School of Law in New Orleans. She and her husband, C. Carl Chandler, an FBI special agent, have one son and live in the Washington, D.C., area.
