Evern Cooper is the first African-American and first female president of the nonprofit UPS Foundation, a division of the Atlanta-based UPS Corporation. She is also the first African-American and first female vice president of UPS corporate relations. Cooper manages all philanthropic funding and evaluates the success of programs on literacy, hunger relief and volunteerism.
In her 28 years with the corporation, the former high school English teacher held various positions at UPS, working in strategic planning, delivery information, training and business development. Cooper, who is single, earned a bachelor's degree in English and journalism at Michigan State University, and attended Emory University and Harvard Graduate School of Business.
