IN LOS ANGELES, at "The Magic of Fashion" show, businessman and basketball legend Magic Johnson and his wife Cookie are joined by Jeanine White, multicultural marketing manager of Lincoln Mercury, and Chuck Morrison, senior vice-president, client services of UniWorid Group Inc. Lincoln sponsored the fashion show. In Atlanta, Dr. Walter E. Massey, president of Morehouse College, dances with talk show host Oprah Winfrey at the 16th annual "A Candle in the Dark" gala. During the event, Winfrey, who donated $5 million to the college, received the event's first-ever Candle for Lifetime Achievement in Humanitarian Service award, becoming the first woman to receive the distinction. At the NAACP Image Awards, Duane Martin and his wife, Tisha Campbell-Martin, congratulate a pregnant Tichina Arnold.

FASHIONABLE BEAUTIES IN THE SPOTLIGHT include model Nicole Murphy (above, wife of comedian Eddie Murphy) and Soul Food co-star Malinda Williams at "The Magic of Fashion" show in Los Angeles. Actress Vanessa L. Williams, on the red carpet at the NAACP Image Awards, and supermodel Naomi Campbell display differing tastes in formalwear. IN HOLLYWOOD, actress Isabel Sanford of The Jeffersons fame is all smiles during the ceremony which honored her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Other attendees and award recipients at the NAACP Image Awards included young actress Gabby Soleil and the stars of TV's Girlfriends Jill Marie Jones, Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks and Persia White. Actress Victoria Rowell is joined by her son.
