Michele S. Jones is the first female command sergeant major of the U.S. Army Reserve, making her the principal enlisted advisor to the chief of the Army Reserve. Jones' primary responsibilities are to update soldiers and their families with information from senior leadership in the Pentagon and to act as a soldiers' advocate.

The top noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve also serves as the U.S. Army Reserve representative for the chief of staff of the Army and is the core team leader for the Enlisted Personnel Management System section of the task force. She was the first female to serve as class president at the United States Sergeants Major Academy. Her active duty assignments included operations Desert Shield/Storm. Jones graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Fayetteville State University. She is single and lives in Washington, D.C., where she is raising the 9-year-old daughter of a relative.
